Royal Coven is an officially licensed bookish merchandise brand founded in 2018 by Anne Black, a lifelong reader and dreamer based in Los Angeles. What began as a passion project, individually embroidered patches and accessories made at home, has grown into a beloved destination for readers around the world who want to wear their favorite stories.
Every piece we create is made with genuine love for books and the communities that form around them. We don't chase trends; we chase the feeling a reader gets when they encounter something that perfectly captures their world. That's what we make.

How It Works
Our licensing process is designed to be straightforward, collaborative, and respectful of your time and creative vision. Here's what the journey typically looks like:
Drop us an email at hello@royalcoven.com with a brief introduction, who you are, your book(s), and what you're envisioning. No formal proposal needed; just a conversation starter.
We'll schedule a call to learn more about your world, your readership, and your goals for a merch partnership. We'll share ideas and examples of what we've created for other authors.
We'll work together to establish a licensing arrangement that's fair and transparent. Royalty rates, approval rights, and collection scope are all discussed openly.
Our design team dives into your books and begins creating. You'll review and approve every design before anything goes into production. Your approval is non-negotiable, we never proceed without it.
We handle all production, photography, and inventory. When it's time to launch, we'll coordinate timing with you and can align with book releases, conventions, or other milestones.
Great partnerships don't end at launch. We stay in close communication, explore new designs as your series grows, and make sure your collection stays fresh and exciting for readers.
What We're Looking For
We're particularly passionate about fantasy, romantasy, paranormal romance, and speculative fiction, the kinds of stories with rich worlds, vivid characters, and dedicated fandoms. That said, we're open to any genre where readers are deeply connected to the story.
We work with authors at all stages: debut authors building their first fandom, experienced authors looking to deepen reader engagement, and established bestsellers wanting an elevated licensed merchandise experience.
